Large, deeply lobed, glossy dark green leaves form impressive clumps, from which tall flowerspikes grow in late spring to early summer. Each one of these is covered in white flowers, each with a purple ‘hood’, creating a dramatic two-tone effect.
Allium sphaerocephalon is a striking allium, bearing dense green drumstick-style flower heads which mature to maroon-red.
Allium 'Miami' bears dark purple, half round, shaggy flower heads on tall stems, in summer. It's a fantastic choice for sunny borders. Grow Allium 'Miami' in well-drained soil in full sun.
